Temperate Deciduous Forest Ecosystem

The presentation included information about the temperate deciduous forest and the Garter snake that has adaptations to survive in this ecosystem.

Are all turtles alike?

Even though they are both turtles, the Softshell turtle and the Box turtle are very different from one another because of the adaptations each has evolved to survive in its ecosystem.

  1. Compare and contrast the physical features of Box turtle and the Softshell turtle.
  2. Explain at least one way the adaptations of each turtle help it survive in its habitat.
 

Extinction?  What’s the cause?

When habitats of animals change, it can lead to extinction for some species of animals.  Humans are usually responsible for changes in animal habitats.

  1. Describe one way that humans change the habitat of an animal species.
  2. Explain how this change in the habitat could cause extinction for that species.
